On my last night on our family vacation in Virginia Beach, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Stefanie & her sweet boy, Charlie, for a maternity session. Stefanie is expecting baby boy #2 this summer. My heart was swelling watching Stefanie and Charlie walk along the beach look for the moon & stars (a nightly ritual) & talk together. Sharing his wonderful Mommy won't be easy for Charlie once his baby brother arrives, but I have faith that Charlie has a lot of Stefanie in him which means he's got a LOT of love to give.
It all started out with fog. I woke up Sunday morning (and so did the rest of the North East) with a blanket of fog in my backyard. Fog makes me trigger happy.
Emily & I had plans to go to Ott's Exotic Plants in Schwenksville, so I
asked told her that when she came over, we were taking pictures in my back yard in this glor-i-ous fog. And that's exactly what we did. We started out in my backyard, went to Ott's, and then came back to my house again for a few shots at a nearby creek. Emily's kind of a huge, huge sport & also extraordinarily photogenic.
Emily's due date is just over a month away now & I cannot wait to meet little Lucy (and, of course, take her first photos as well!) Until then, enjoy this impromptu session of one of the prettiest pregnant people I've ever met, inside and out.
I am so excited to be doing Ashley's maternity & newborn photos since she's been a very, very good friend of mine for many years now. It's always an honor for someone to ask you to photograph the most intimate and special times in their lives, and when it's a good friend of yours, it's no exception. We did Ashley's maternity session at her parents house where she grew up with her daughter Emmalyn & her boyfriend Ricky. I was so pleased with the last-minute decision to do it at her parents house because they will be selling this house soon. This is the house where Ashley grew up & where Emmalyn took her first steps, so it's very special that Ashley's newest addition will also have her own special connection to the house as well. Doctors say Ashley could go anytime next week! While I know the timing isn't ideal for her (rehearsal week for her studio's recital where Ashley & her mother teach & Emmalyn dances!), I'm certainly looking forward to meeting this precious baby girl & documenting the first days of her little life with her wonderful family.
Lindsey & Marc are expecting their first baby in July. My job allows me to come into people's lives at their happiest & I'm lucky to be a part of such magical times. I can't wait to do their son's newborn session when he arrives. I'm very, very much looking forward to meeting him. Maybe almost as much as they are.
This week, I'm switching it up! I don't have any macro shots to share so for now, you'll have to enjoy this belly shot from Saturday's maternity session. Everyone loves a belly picture, right? Right.
